ICON tie rods

Going out to Death Valley with a bunch of Jeep guys and I would never here the end of it if I busted a tie rod so time to upgrade. I think the rack will be in pieces before this breaks. Picture does not do it justice, they are much larger and stronger looking than the original ones. I do wish the boots were like the original style, kind of a plastic/rubber material, but I'm no engineer, maybe these rubber ones will be just fine and last forever!

Yes, I probably should have installed the bushing kit while I had the tie rod off. How this started was I think too much and not in a good way. I wanted to have a spare tie rod to change just in case. I thought if I just have an inner I'll have to swap the outer off the busted inner so I better get an outer just in case. Then I thought it would be nice if that tie rod was adjusted so that I didn't have to try and set the toe close enough to drive home. Then I thought the right and left outer tie rod ends are different so I will have to do this for both sides.. Then I thought.. well, you get the idea!

I completely understand ... in ether case, you are where you are. Are you running a major lift and/or 37+" tires? If not, what I've heard is tie rods aren't usually a problem. But once you lift your Bronco any significant amount above 2 or 3 inches, and add 37"s well, then that's where most of the folks bust tie rods.

My Bronco is all stock except for the sway bar disconnect kit and the tie rods that are almost as big as the front axles now. I'm trying to wait until the tires are a little more worn out before lift and bigger tires, but we'll see...

Then, if it were me, I would also do the bushing when I did the lift and bigger tires.
